TACT were thrilled that two of its foster carers, Olaf & Fritha, were featured in an episode of Grand Designs – which aired on 6th December.
Their ambitious new property, designed and mainly built by Olaf himself, all started back in 2019. Having bought some land in West Sussex, the couple were faced with a number of challenges – namely a plot of land sandwiched between an A-road and a train line!
Upon completion of their new home, host Kevin McCloud took a tour and proceeded to ask the couple about an additional bedroom. It was at this point that Olaf & Fritha talked about being foster carers, and that this extra bedroom was for a child in care.
We’re so proud of Olaf & Fritha for taking on this huge project, and for not only succeeding but being able to open their new home to children in care.
