TACT urges everyone to sign the petition calling on the UK government to review and increase foster carers’ allowances and tax exemptions.

TACT has previously called for allowances to be increased in the face of rampant inflation. By 2026, it is predicted that there will be a deficit of 25,000 foster families and there are fears that the cost of living crisis will lead to an exodus of carers.
Earlier this year, a survey found that over half of foster carers were considering quitting fostering due to the cost of living crisis.
