New funding and a brand new exhibition for our Welsh Art Group

Author: TACT

TACT care leavers, looked after young people and their carers in Mid-Wales have created yet more stunning works of art, under the tutelage of local artist Brian Jones.

The TACT Wales Art Group gets set to launch a fantastic new exhibition at the Hafren Theatre in Newtown on the 24 February. Our Art Group provides a positive, creative space where our young people can develop their artistic flare and explore their feelings about being in care through art.

Now in its fourth year, the Art Group is going from strength to strength. The group began in October 2011 and was originally funded by the Ashley Family Foundation, who generously covered the costs of the group for some time. We are happy to announce that the group has recently secured new funding from The Montgomeryshire District Fund and The Oakdale Trust. TACT is very grateful for this support. The group has done wonders in boosting the self-esteem of our young people and releasing their artistic talent.

The exhibition begins on 24 February and will remain at the Hafren Theatre for three months. If you live nearby we welcome you to go and check it out!
