It is Foster Care Fortnight – an opportunity to celebrate the life-enhancing impact of living with a foster family has on children and young people who are in the care system.
There are multiple reasons why children and young people may be taken into care, which can include physical abuse, neglect, abandonment and parent illness. Whatever the reason, foster carers provide a loving, stable and nurturing family environment for children and young people to start to recover from the challenges they have had to face at such a young age.
Foster carers should be acknowledged and respected for the transformative care they give other people’s children. Beverley is a great example of how TACT’s fantastic foster carers go above and beyond for vulnerable children and young people. You can read her inspiring story here
