TACT patron Lorraine Pascale makes TV appeal for more foster carers

TACT Patron, Lorraine Pascale, recently appeared on the ITV’s Lorraine TV Show to talk about the need for more foster carers.

Reflecting on her past of growing up in foster care, Lorraine Pascale, shared some of her experiences in the hope that more people will come forward and enquire about becoming a foster carer “I grew up in foster and had positive experiences. Having foster carers gave me love, support, stability and belief in myself.”

Lorraine Pascale also addressed the issue that many more foster carers are needed to specifically care for teenagers: “There are lots of young children and especially teenagers who need loving homes. Sometimes for these children, it’s not because they are challenging but because of unfortunate events that have happened at home and quite often bad luck.

When fostering teenagers you do get a huge support system – a social worker, family support worker and for some placements, also a therapist. You’ll have a huge support network around you, it is a really rewarding experience.”
