TACT is the UK's largest specialist charity provider of fostering services. Our core work involves providing high quality and well supported fostering families for children and young people in the care of local authorities. Working in partnership with local authorities across England, Wales and Scotland, we are dedicated to providing creative, effective and outcome-focused services. We also campaign on behalf of care experienced children and young people, their carers and are a leading voice in the sector.

Our vision is to provide better lives for our children and young people.

At TACT we understand that leaving foster care can be a mixed bag. For some this can be a time when there is a lot of change and uncertainty. For others whilst the change may not be significant, there may still be a loss of familiar foster parents or professionals, or both. Whilst for others leaving care may feel more like a relief and a time to spread their wings.

And for these reasons we created TACT Connect. https://www.tactcare.org.uk/tact-connect/

We have created a membership scheme available to young people and adults from 16 years old onwards with a focus on connection, supporting members in easily obtaining and finding information via our online Connect Hub, and also offering experiences and additional learning. We also offer access to our Peer Mentoring Scheme, to Life Coaching Sessions and access to a Financial Grant Scheme. Whatever a young person or adults experience, we are here at TACT Connect to offer an ongoing community. We offer to celebrate good times, and to give continued support throughout difficult times. With our aim being to be available to all TACT care experienced people throughout lifetime.

As our TACT Connect Engagement and Participation Worker, you will be responsible for engaging and supporting our members from when they sign up as a member to our scheme, and throughout the duration of their connection with TACT Connect. You will engage members by staying in touch by phone, text and email and will further get to know our members to support in the growth of online and in person meet ups across the UK. A part of this role will be to support members in their participation of the TACT Connect scheme, and also to support and facilitate online groups. You will further work alongside the Connect Co-Ordinator and Peer Mentoring Worker to ensure that information gathered from members is considered, listened to and feeds into TACT Connect as a whole. There will be considerable opportunities for professional and personal growth in this role, given that the scheme is in it’s infancy.
