Job Title - Supervising / Senior Supervising Social Worker Fostering

Salary - Up to £36,300 pa for SSW and up to £41,019 pa for SSSW plus £750 pa Homeworking Allowance and £1,500 pa OOH Allowance + £500 pa Placements Allowance (when on rota) for all grades

Hours - 35 Hours per Week

 Contract - Fixed Term for six months initially with potential for permanent appointment

Homebased - Covering Dorset and Hampshire

Our South Coast Team currently requires a dynamic and forward thinking fostering social worker with experience of safeguarding and fostering to support placements and the ongoing growth and development of the regional fostering services across Hampshire and Dorset.

This role is homebased and fixed term for 6 months, with the possibility of becoming permanent due to development and growth locally and travel across both Dorset and Hampshire and surrounding areas will be required when it is safe to do so and this will include regular attendance at team meetings.

We are interested in social workers for whom quality of service is paramount and especially those who share our commitment to working in partnership with children and their foster carers in the development of the our services. The ideal candidate for this fostering social worker role should  have post qualifying experience in family placement work or other child care settings as well as a good working knowledge of relevant legislation and child protection procedures.

Main requirements:

  • Post qualifying experience in family placement work or post qualifying experience in other child care settings.
  • A proven track record in working with and on behalf of children, respecting and maintaining their individuality and promoting their positive development.
  • Experience of group work and/or delivery of training.
  • Up to date knowledge of relevant legislation including the Fostering National Minimum Standards and Fostering regulations.
  • Experience of working with/supporting looked after children and their foster carers.
  • Ability to prioritise, plan and self organise efficiently.
  • Capable of using electronic records systems and IT effectively, including participating in virtual meetings and webinars.

In addition to the annual salary the fostering social worker post is paid £1,500 pa OOH Allowance and £500 pa Placements Allowance once the successful candidate is particpating in the rota.

You will need to have a BA or MA in social work to be a qualified and registered with Social Work England. An enhanced DBS clearance is also required and will be processed by TACT on your behalf.
