Supervising Social Worker - Fostering

Homebased with travel required throughout Hampshire and Dorset

Full Time - 35 Hours Per Week

Fixed Term Contract for 6 Months (with potential for extending)

£29,700 per annum + £2,000 Out of Hours Allowance + £750 Homeworking Allowance

We are looking for a  Supervising Social Worker who will support the foster families and placements we have in Hampshire and Dorset. This is a developing area and an exciting time to join the growing South Coast Team.  There will be opportuities to develop your skills and experience within fostering and contribute to developing the business across this region.  The post is offered on a six month basis initially but may be extended based on projected growth.  The successful candidate will be required to travel throughout Hampshire and Dorset when it is safe to do so.

We are interested in a Supervising Social Worker for whom quality of service is paramount and especially those who share our commitment to working in partnership with children and their foster carers in the development of the our services. The ideal candidate for this Supervising Social Worker role should  have post qualifying experience in family placement work or other child care settings as well as a working knowledge of relevant legislation and child protection procedures.

Main requirements:

  • Experience in family placement work or post qualifying experience in other child care settings.
  • A proven track record in working with and on behalf of children, respecting and maintaining their individuality and promoting their positive development.
  • Up to date knowledge of relevant legislation including the Fostering National Minimum Standards and Fostering regulations.
  • Experience of working with/supporting looked after children and their foster carers.
  • Experience carrying out Form F assessments or a proven track record in assessment skills.

You will need to be DipSW, CSS or CQSW qualified and registered with Social Work England. An enhanced DBS clearance is also required and will be processed by TACT on your behalf.

The successful applicant may be required to support Duty and Out of Hours on a rota basis and will be paid an out of hours’ allowance of £2,000 per annum once participating in the rota.
