Consultant Therapist/Trainer

TACT South Coast is seeking a self-employed Therapist to work sessionally to provide support to our foster carers group; this is to ensure carers respond therapeutically to the children and young people in their care.

  • The Therapist will facilitate a regular foster carers support group (bi-monthly).
  • Provide one to one specialist support and therapeutic interventions to foster carer as required.
  • Provide specialist support and therapeutic interventions to children and young people who are being looked after or members of the fostering family as needed, as required.

Therapeutic and support packages will be commissioned on an “as and when needed” basis and negotiated between TACT and the Therapist.

Depending on the Therapist’s expertise, there may be a request to deliver training on specific topics, to either the foster carers group or TACT staff.

You must be a qualified Psychotherapist registered with BACP with a clear and solid understanding of attachment.  You must have some experience of working with looked after children and/or foster carers and knowledge/experience of using the PACE model beneficial. Applicants will need to have relevant knowledge and experience in Trauma, Fostering, Looked After Children and a good understanding of how to support therapeutic parenting. An enhanced DBS clearance is required for this role.
