Fostering Wales

TACT’s regional office in Wales is in the town of Neath, a valley town situated just off the M4. It is easily accessible for Brecon and mid Wales and for town and cities to the East (Bridgend, Cardiff and Newport) and West (Swansea, Carmarthen, Fishguard and Cardigan). Neath is also a main line station on the Great Western Paddington to Fishguard line.

TACT began working in Wales in 1996 with a team manager and sessional workers based in their homes. Continuing growth has led to the recent purchase of the current three story office premises. As well as providing sufficient room for all staff, there is also space for training, contact and conferences.

TACT Cymru carers live across the South and West of the country. They come from Cardiff and rural Welsh-speaking villages from the Severn Bridge to the furthest part of Pembrokeshire. As part of ongoing expansion for the whole organisation, TACT Cymru started covering North Wales from 2009. Referrals come from the majority of local authorities in South East Wales, a few from the West of Wales and Powys. TACT in Wales prides itself on the service we provide. All our carers have access to a TACT social worker at all times and we place great emphasis on support and guidance. First and foremost, TACT in Wales is committed to the welfare of children in care. We do this by ensuring that the referred child’s needs are met through the matching process, providing ongoing support to carers and through our campaigning and lobbying work.

TACT Cymru has unveiled its very own Welsh Language Scheme! Read the full press release and download the Scheme in both Welsh and English.
