Trustees

TACT has 13 trustees who look after the charity. They are responsible for the general control and management of our administration. Go to our "Governance" page for more information about what they do for TACT. Please find below a list of our trustees with a brief description of their background:

  • Mr Mike Edmonds - Chair: a qualified accountant, experienced finance manager and currently Finance Director of a sports and leisure charity. He was formerly Head of Finance at a national charity active in providing music opportunities for young people.

  • Mrs Gillian Hall - Deputy Chair: magistrate from 1983, until her retirement in 2001. She is a trustee of the Bexley Moorings Project, supporting young people in care and an active Governor of Bexley Secondary School.

  • Ms Sarah Charles: business advisor and former trustee of Children Law UK (CLUK). She joined TACT board of trustees in 2007.

  • Ms Martha Clarke: communications consultant, newspaper and TV journalist, coach and qualified teacher.
     
  • Ms Ada Grindley: an educational consultant and "Trainer in Positive" who has provided services to local authorities and the Industrial Society.

  • Mr Richard Grove: qualified solicitor (1973) and a senior partner in his law practice, he specializes in conveyancing and employment law. He is experienced in dealing with litigation matters for local authorities.

  • Mrs Belinda Harding: a retired magistrate, a professional artist and former trustee of CLUK. She joined TACT board of trustees in 2007.

  • Geoff Knox: a financial consultant specialising in raising long term investment for large infrastructure projects in emerging countries. He joined the board in 2009.

  • Mrs Joan Lawton: a qualified social worker and former trustee of the Independent Adoption Services (IAS). She sits on the adoption panel. She joined the board in 2007.

  • Lord Francis Listowel: a crossbencher since 1998, he became an elected hereditary peer in 1999. He is a patron of Voice (formerly known as the "Voice for the Child in Care") and Young Minds. He is also a trustee of a child welfare charity, the Michael Sieff Foundation.

  • Mrs Gillian Santi: a retired general practitioner and former trustee and Chair of the Independent Adoption Service (IAS). She is also a school governor and an official prison visitor. She joined the Board in 2007.

  • Mrs Anna Shillingford MBE: experienced community worker, she holds leadership positions in many charitable voluntary agencies. She has been awarded an MBE for her services to the community and an Honorary Doctorate for her services to business.

  • Mr Philip Thomas: chartered accountant and retired senior partner of Creaseys, a firm of chartered accountants.
