Young people in care are amongst the most vulnerable in society, consistently achieving less well than their peers. It is not their fault - 62% come into care because of abuse and neglect, 10% due to family disfunction and 8% due to absent parents. Once in care they are ten times more likely to be excluded from school than other children and 36% will not even be entered for any GCSEs. Within two years of leaving care 50 % will be unemployed, 35% will be parents or pregnant and 20% will be homeless.
These are not acceptable outcomes for young people - we need to level the playing field.
TACT believes in the potential of every young person to achieve if given the right encouragement, support and opportunities. We are fundraising to provide additional services and support to the young people in our care to ensure they have the best chance of a bright future.

* Donating your time - we've had volunteers help us with anything from re-surfacing an office driveway to helping to organise events.
* Helping us to fundraise - maybe you could run a local event, or even run the marathon for TACT.
