TACT in Scotland is actively seeking people to become foster carers. TACT foster carers are provided with support from their social worker, training and development opportunities throughout the process of becoming foster carers and after when they have children or young people placed with them. People from all walks of life are welcome to become members of the team.

The organisation is keen to work with and alongside local authorities, established agencies and services for children throughout Scotland. It has considerable experience to bring to services based on many years of working in England and Wales.

TACT began developing foster care services in Scotland in the early autumn of 2007 and registered with the Care Commission in July 2008.

TACT recognised that, as a difference country, measured approaches need to be taken for the service for the legislative and inspection requirements in Scotland. The organisation is keen to learn from customers and stakeholders in order to provide services that are wanted and needed, to ever improve standards.

The service now has a permanent refurbished base at Slateford House, a well known listed building in Edinburgh. The office has a splendid training venue which is open for the use of local authorities and child care agenicies to use for training/group purposes. There is a large, child friendly facility open and available for professionals looking for a venue to work with children which is relaxing and pleasant.

The service is developing and whilst the current base is in Edinburgh, there are two home based social workers based in the Glasgow area. TACT's organisational ethos ensures that no individual is alone - they are part of a strong, responsive team.
