TACT is now much more than a fostering agency. We have grown both in size and scope - increasing the range of services we provide to the children and young people in our care. There is now a national network of TACT offices in England and Wales and expansion is currently under way into Scotland.
TACT also runs an adoption service, which has recently expanded as we merged with the adoption charity IAS. This merger will provide England and Wales with a sector-leading adoption service that is part of a broad range of options for providing permanence in care.
We have recently merged with the charity Children Law UK, providing training, conferences and campaigning for the rights of young people involved with the legal system.
The type of care offered to individuals is based primarily upon one thing - the best needs of the cared for child or young person. TACT's ethos is based around ensuring the best quality of life for those in care.
TACT is committed to remaining beyond profit, returning any operating surplus to those in care. We are investing in a range of additional services and activities for our carers and young people, including national events such as our Young People's Participation Weekend and our Carers Awards. We fundraise to deliver the support and services our young people need.
TACT is committed to pushing forwards as a fully-fledged children’s charity in the UK. We know our services are excellent and hope they can reach more children and young people in the future. We are driving forwards partnerships with other charities, local authorities, companies and organisations in order to deliver the best, most innovative service we can.
