Children and Young People; Rights to Action
We have a longstanding involvement in South Wales from our office in Neath, providing foster care services to 13 different Welsh local authorities with over a 100 looked after children in placement through our East and Wales teams.
We fully support the Welsh Assembly and its commitment to improve life chances for children and young people within Wales as set out in the Children and Young People; Rights to Action’s document through focusing on seven core aims:
- A flying start in life
- A comprehensive range of education, training and learning opportunities.
- The best possible health, free from abuse, victimisation and exploitation.
- Play, leisure, sporting and cultural activities.
- Treated with respect and have their race and cultural identity recognised.
- A safe home and community.
- Children and young people not disadvantaged by poverty.
The specific vision for Welsh children is one very much in line with TACT’s own value statements and mission statement and we’ll work hard to ensure this is fully translated into our fostering service in Wales.
