Meet the team
Here is a brief summary of each member of TACT Executive Management Team. (Members of staff are listed by alphabetical order)
David Bradley - Executive Director of Performance and Quality
I have been employed in the third sector with TACT since 2005, initially as an Area Manager, then during a period of secondment as Director of Operations for Shaftesbury Young People before being appointed to the position of Director of Performance and Quality in September 2008. I have been employed in the children and families social work field since 1977, mainly in a local authority setting, practising as a Guardian ad Litem and Approved Social Worker while employed as a social worker. I have been in a wide range of management positions since 1984 covering all areas of statutory children and family services including safeguarding, family support, looked after children, leaving care and adoption and fostering.
Gareth Crossman - Executive Director of External Affairs
I started work at TACT in January 2009 as the head of the new External Affairs Department. My department is responsible for developing TACT’s press profile, campaigning, lobbying, marketing, research and fundraising. I used to be a solicitor specialising in defence work in magistrates and youth courts. Many of the young people I used to represent were in care. I also spent a brief time working as a journalist before joining the legal department of Liberty. For five years before joining TACT I was Director of the Policy and Parliamentary Department at Liberty.
I was appointed Chief Executive of East London Foster Carers (ELF) in 2001 and joined TACT in 2005 when the two charities merged. I am responsible for all children’s services within the organisation. I act as the agency decision maker for both fostering and adoption. I initially qualified as a social worker in 1977, having previously worked as a psychiatric nurse. I have specialised in children’s services since 1980, particularly in child protection and with looked after children. I have been involved in management since 1980 too, at various levels in local authorities and the third sector. I am also a former foster carer.
Kingsley Peter - Executive Director of Finance and Corporate Services
I joined TACT in June 2002. I am responsible for finance, business planning, human resources and facilities. I am also a foster carer. After training as a chartered certified accountant, I worked as a Financial Controller in a FTSE utility company, Business Manager for an international pharmaceutical company and as the Financial Director of a small UK based cosmetics company. In my spare time, I am also a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Finance, Business and Investment Committee of the East London NHS Foundation Trust and a member of the Assurance and Regulatory Board of the property management and development group, Places for People.
Kevin Williams - Chief Executive
I was appointed Chief Executive of The Adolescent and Children’s Trust (TACT) in 2001. My background is teaching and social work having started my career with the Inner London Education Authority. My MA in social work and Bachelor of Education [Hons] complements my experience. In between fulfilling my role at TACT, I am also a Trustee for the British Association for Adoption and Fostering (BAAF) and am on the board of Research in Practice. I have a strong experience as a speaker having been invited at many national conferences.
Since Kevin’s arrival, TACT has grown from a relatively small charity fostering agency into a national children’s charity working with and for children in care
