London & South East Fostering

In 1992, TACT fostering charity was formed, they took up residence in Stanley House, New Eltham, then moved to Hither Green offices. Our office was set up then as "South London". As the charity grew in size, we opened an office in Kent (Hadlow). We have now merged both offices and become "TACT London & South East". We share space with our Head Office and the adoption services team.

What we do

The London and South East team supports over 40 carer families with up to 73 available beds for looked after children ranging in age from 0-17. The team comprises of qualified and experience social workers who are responsible for recruitment of potential foster carers. We offer a wide range of in-house training courses – 8 to 10 courses annually (see attached brochures for last year, 09/10 currently being compiled) but also encourage our carers to attend other courses and conferences. Many of them have achieved NVQ Part 3 and we support them in achieving the CWDC qualification.

We are always looking for new carers from all cultures and walks of life in the following areas: Lewisham, Greenwich, Southwark, Lambeth, Bexley, Merton, Croydon, Bromley and Surrey & Kent. We are currently expanding our search to Brighton & Hove and West Sussex.
