TACT Patron Lorraine Pascale named as the government’s first fostering ambassador

Author: TACT

TACT is delighted that the Department of Education has today announced TACT Patron, Lorraine Pascale as the government’s first ambassador for Fostering.

As fostering ambassador, Lorraine Pascale will champion fostering and encourage more families to consider becoming foster carers.

As a care leaver and adopted child herself, Lorraine knows only too well the issues a child in care faces. Her knowledge and experiences make her a wonderful advocate and now ambassador for children and young people across the UK.

Lorraine became TACT’s Patron in 2012 and has worked along side TACT on multiple projects to raise awareness of the challenges facing fostering and adoption. This includes speaking at the launch of the Care Inquiry report and presenting TACT’s film discussing the essential need for adoption support on Children in Need.

TACT CEO Andy Elvin said;

“TACT’s fantastic foster carers and adoptive parents work tirelessly to improve outcomes for the UK’s most vulnerable children. Lorraine has long been a strong supporter of our work and we can think of no one better to take on this important role”.
