Who can be a Link Carer?
We welcome applications from people from all backgrounds, cultures and ethnic groups. Your sexuality, marital status, age and whether you own a home do not determine your suitability as a carer. We need carers with a positive outlook, motivation and the confidence to manage a variety of situations. Personal qualities such as patience, understanding, enthusiasm and a good sense of humour are also important.
We would welcome caring people who have the time, energy and a genuine desire to help a child with a disability and who are able to make a regular commitment to the scheme. In return you will find your role satisfying, rewarding and great fun.
“Link care does amazing things by giving the children exposure to new life experiences that help to aid their development and improve their confidence.”
Faith, TACT Peterborough Retained Link Carer
You do not need any particular qualifications as training and support will be provided, however we do ask that you have some experience of caring for children with disabilities and that if you have your own children they are at least two years old at the time of applying.
As a Link Carer, a little of your spare time can make a big difference to the life of a child with disabilities. If you think this is something you could offer, contact our enquiries team by completing the form on this page.
